To find the right book that motivates you is to find a parallel way of re-educating oneself. Sometimes we come across books at the right time to strike and pass the message right through our heads.

These books have been extremely motivational and have helped me change my perspective towards a lot of things.

These are my top 3 motivational books picked up from https://www.gatesnotes.com/Books

The Moment Of Lift — Melinda Gates

The most necessary book release about women empowerment. Melinda Gates, the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has been on this mission for the past 20 years. She speaks about her personal encounters with women from all over the world especially Africa and India. It is a fact check book about how women from different parts of the world are struggling to find their voice. It is saddening to see that these women are not even aware of their basic human rights, and have been blindly following traditions.
Even though she highlights the struggle, there are also very empowering stories of girls and women, who have fought against the excruciating obstacles to shape their lives.

I strongly believe in her assessment that if we want to uplift humanity then we need to empower more women. It is the need of the hour to empower women. It is in our hands to set our own goals, otherwise, it will be set for us. It is to become equal partners in the hierarchy chart.

The Ride Of A Lifetime — Robert Iger

It is a beautifully crafted book about leadership which speaks about the failures and successes, the frustration and joy in leading one of the world’s biggest and powerful media company. It is filled with insights into his struggle to climb up the corporate ladder to winning the top job at Disney.

During a time when the morale of Disney had deteriorated, he made history because the future of the company was all that mattered.
The biggest take away would be his suggestions or lessons to lead by, to be an outstanding leader. This book is an endless fascination describing his role in Disney’s acquisition of Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox.

Shoe Dog- Phil Knight

It is an honest memoir about creating Nike. A real struggle to find and create a stable path into business. Throughout the book, his story only presents the inevitable that his company was bound to fail. This book is as real as it can get. It is a riveting story of chaos and mess to its evolution as one of the world’s most iconic brands.

What caught my attention was his determination to make a mark in this world. To not limit our possibilities, to forget our doubts, our pains.

As he quotes “Have faith in yourself, but also have faith in faith. Not faith as others define it. Faith as you define it.”

Happy reading!
